Forsaken [fərˈsākən]

The bible says that God will never leave us nor forsake us. This is a promise from God and the word also tells us that His word will never return to Him void. Which means that if God said it, it will happen with all certainty. It means that we can trust it as true and stand on it as if it were a solid rock. But what does 'forsaken' mean?

Forsaken is defined as abandoned or deserted. God is telling us that He will never abandon us. He will never give up on us or quit loving us. Never, no matter what it can not happen.

It's amazing, isn't it? We just have to remind ourselves, remember His word and believe. Especially when you feel alone. I'm sure all of us have felt that way at one point or another. As busy as this world is, with people constantly moving around us. It is easy to feel alone. Alone is just a trick of the enemy because God is always with us, connected to us. And He always knows exactly what we are going through.

All we have to do is remain in faith to maintain access to all the promises and blessings from God. He will never leave us nor forsake us is just one of the many promises in His word.

This makes me think of a story in the Bible, the story of Joseph the dreamer. Even as a little boy Joseph was very faithful. He knew who God was and his connection to Him was strong. Joseph had many hardships in his life. His brothers sold him into slavery, his owners wife lied on him and he was subsequently thrown into jail. Through all that Joseph remained faithful and God never abandoned him. Which was evident in how he was blessed through it all. In the end he was blessed to be ruler over Egypt which blessed his whole family.

Remember Joseph's story and apply it to your own life. Let his story motivate and strengthen you in all you do. Remain faithful always. Even through your trials and tribulations. Trust God to do exactly what He said he would do. With those things in mind, you will remain blessed through it all. Because we are not forsaken, we are not alone and God is always by our side.

Psalm 37:25 25I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

Isaiah 55:11 11So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

1 KINGS 8:57 "The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:"

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Matthew 19:29 29And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
