Resurrection [ˌrezəˈrekSH(ə)n]

Updated: Apr 11, 2021

The word resurrection is synonymous with revival, reappearance, rebirth, restoration, resuscitation, revitalization. It is a word that makes you think about new life and renewal. It is defined as the act of resurrecting or being resurrected. The biblical definition is a little simpler, it is to rise from the dead.

This is word that should be refreshing and encouraging to all Christians. It should bring feelings of joy, peace, hope and satisfaction. This is a word that is connected to our the core beliefs. And it gives us reason to celebrate, not just every year but every day. Because Jesus came as our savior. He lived, He suffered and He died for our sins. But He was resurrected to live again forever, which gives us the right to do the same.

So, as we celebrate this day, do it with Jesus in mind. Take a moment to linger on the significance of His sacrifice. Think about what an awesome gift Jesus was to us all. Imagine how much God must love us. We are all so undeserving but that doesn't change a thing.

This is a tremendous occasion for celebration. Give Him thanks and show Him your gratitude in some type of way. Even if it is just whispering a Thank You Lord. Enjoy this holiday, enjoy the food, you're family and friends but don't forget the reason why this day is so important.

Thank God His death was not the end of the story. Happy Resurrection Day everyone!

John 11:25-2625Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Romans 8:8-11 8So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-1413But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

1 Corinthians 6:1414And God hath both raised up the LORD, and will also raise up us by his own power.

John 6:4040And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
